ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – On Saturday, the Northeast Ambulance and Fire Protection District held a car wash fundraiser to support the installation of a Safe Haven Baby Box.
For a starting price of $15, participants could have their car exterior washed and dried, interior vacuumed, and tires and wheels cleaned.
A baby box provides a secure and anonymous way for parents in crisis to safely surrender their newborns.
According to a December FOX 2 report, the Northeast Ambulance and Fire Protection District aims to raise $35,000 to install a baby box at its station located at 7100 Natural Bridge Road. Officials emphasize the urgent need for a baby box in north St. Louis County.
