Motorcyclist Dies After Being Rear-Ended by Car and SUV on I-75 in Marion County, FHP Reports

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A motorcyclist died Saturday night after being rear-ended on Interstate 75 in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 9:23 p.m. on I-75 South near mile marker 349, just south of State Road 200.

A 22-year-old woman from Deer Island was riding her motorcycle southbound when a car struck her from behind, FHP reported. The impact threw her from the motorcycle, and she was subsequently hit by an SUV.

She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died. Troopers confirmed she was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The drivers of both the car and the SUV were unharmed.
