US television presenter Savannah Guthrie and her family have issued a renewed appeal to the public for help in the search for their missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, who police believe was abducted seven weeks ago.
"We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom's case," the Guthrie family said in a statement shared with NBC Tucson affiliate KVOA for a special report on the investigation.
Authorities have been searching for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie since she was reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona home on February 1.
Previously released footage from outside Nancy Guthrie's residence showed a masked figure, but nearly two months later, police have not identified any suspects.
In their statement to KVOA released on Saturday, the Guthrie family expressed gratitude to the Tucson community for its ongoing support and reiterated their request for information.
"We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case," the family said. "Someone knows something."
"Please review any camera footage, journal notes, text messages, observations, or conversations that in retrospect may hold significance. No detail is too small. It may be the key."
"We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be at peace until she is home," the family added.
"We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home."
Since Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, Savannah and her siblings have posted multiple videos on social media, including direct appeals to their mother's captor. They are offering a $1 million (approximately £760,000) reward for information leading to her return, in addition to the $100,000 reward offered by the FBI.
"She may be lost, she may already be gone," Savannah Guthrie said in a video shared in February.
The nationwide search has uncovered clues such as DNA evidence and alleged ransom notes, but no suspect has been identified.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, leading the investigation with FBI assistance, stated that authorities believe the 84-year-old was specifically targeted, though they are "not 100% sure of that."
In February, police released video footage from outside Nancy Guthrie's home on the night they believe she was abducted. The footage shows a masked suspect, believed to be armed, tampering with the camera.
Police have asked neighbors to provide surveillance footage from the night of Nancy Guthrie's disappearance, as well as from other dates leading up to it.
